Why not like others?

Why not like others?
I understand the fact that there's something more important??
I know the promise may come true?
But
I just feel uncomfortable when someone asks me something like that...

我實習去adult ESL課堂的老師 人很好　今天跟他聊到學生的背景
原本我只是單純的以為他們大部分跟隨父母家人移民來( Dominica Republic, Puerto Rico, Cuba...)
上英文課程　是為了上大學課程　因為他們全是西班牙母語者
事實上除了來紐約有很多工作機會之外　他們原本並沒有受到很好的教育或者是家人已經不在身邊或是需要較好的醫療...但最大的原因是　貧窮
現在我可以理解　大部分的學生課餘都還有工作　某個學生Jose告訴我他有兩份兼差的工作註1　

我常常往uptown跑　那裏的光景跟市區的光景差很多
在紐約　有很多人願意花一餐＄30 or 以上去享受美食
在紐約　看見辛苦彈奏的人　穿梭在地鐵的車廂裡　但不一定很多人會願意給小費
在紐約　我看見　但有我沒看見的人　沒有錢買食物

有錢的人　家長很注重小孩的教育　有人會把小孩送去私立學校
但我覺的公立學校（就我有去觀察的一些）就已經很好了註2
但是　沒有錢的人不太有權力選擇　
而且"能力好的老師"應該也會想選擇＂好教＂的學生（有錢人比較會幫助自己的小孩）
或是待在＂較高級＂的社區
我會覺得偉大的老師是幫助＂真正需要幫助的學生＂

一個打工是在理髮廳　另一個幫忙外包餐宴（他很喜歡這份工作　因為常常可以看到時尚的show或是跟model 打交道）他之後要去念時尚設計

註2 美國福利很好　窮的人可以住政府蓋的家　只需要付一些可以付得起的錢　甚至不用
看他們的收入而定
低收入的家庭也不必幫孩子付學費　但是有些家庭可能是非法的移民者
所以才有些人不滿他們付的稅是給這些人受教育

I've finished my last lesson at Eisman Day Nursery and finished my portfolio last Friday. I'll gonna miss those cute kids & I'll remember what Ms. Robin taught me...

Not a minute rest...
I 've started my practicum at adult ESL class since the last week of March. My cooperative teacher usually asked me to be assistant. An optional hour which the director of this community college gave to me is that I can lead a conversation group every Tuesday.

These Sundays I don't teach my Chinese class. I spent the weekends doing my assignments, reading the last book of the book circle in MCE class, and data analysis...

Unfortunately, I haven't collected all my survey from the other class. It made me to find an excuse to defer my schedule of thesis. Close due day of draft thesis but little progress!!!

In Sunday afternoon, poor girl is staying indoor and staring at lots of work around her.
Even Yankees won, it could not cheer her up at all.
I wanna go and see Tiger Wang!
