stuffy

Positive Support

What I did on my crazy Tuesday? & How I learned on that day?

I finished my teaching in an ESL adult class. One thing was weird that my supervisor came and observed my teaching only once. How can she decide to give me P or F by one visiting?
Sandra who is another ESL teacher at next door told me that she saw I was smiling and confident as she was passing by. Actually, she had no idea that I was sweating a lot...

That night I had group presentation which I didn't feel nervous about it since we were well- prepared! I love this course. I'm pretty sure almost everyone love this course. Five of us took turns briefly explaining the goal, objectives, and final product of each lesson...The other classmates gave us certain feedback, they directly pointed out they like our "cocoon activity", and my idea of symbols of musical rhythm on a caterpillar's body parts. Although this curriculum unit is for pre-K~1, my members are all brilliant. I believe that teachers need creativity.

One group provided the last activity, "Dream Garden" in their unit. Everyone could plant anything in your garden, what would you like to plant? "I wanna grow money trees." "Mine is chocolate trees." "Peace" "I wanna diamond flowers." "Low-fat ice cream but tasty" "Each plant grows different pair of shoes" this was my answer ha~

The following activities we did before and after the class were impressive. The one we did it before the presentation: Touching the ball and keeping it in the air. We gave applause when the ball fell. Someone must bow as the mistake was obviously made by him/her.

The other one was "cooking soup". Everyone added "how I felt today" as your flavor and then let's stir together. Everyone took turns describing how does it taste.

I noticed that everyone likes to share out what's exactly good and why; everyone is far more likely to give positive encouragement.

Everyone indeed needs positive support!
